the difference in quality from the first two skaters (really good) to the next one was really huge. That is one of the things that I love about watching juniors - you never know what you will get with the next skater and you can really see the difference in quality.

Heh - woke up just in time for Group 3.

Nishino - that was a hell of a fall on the 3A - I'm not sure if he hit his head on the ice or not but it wasn't pretty and I'm guessing his shoulder will be aching after that. Oh, he's skating to "ABC, 123" and has more than enough flair and style to pull it off.

What an odd skate for Nishino. Goes for a 3a and rhen completely blows a spin. Engaging little guy, though. I don't think he hit his head -- hopefully not.

I think they said the song was I Want You Back, not ABC.

Good skate for Beck. Not much expression, and no 3a, but great speed, and he earned himself a nice row of green boxes.

Love Beck Strommer’s lovely line & musicality! Also enjoyed Appleby & Kim earlier…missed Hagara.

Strommer - Hip, Hip, Chin, Chin - I like this program better than the infamous one from Ashley Wagner. All the jumps were clean! TES is much lower than Hagara or Kim, but I think he might make up some of that difference on PCS and won't be far off the lead - 69.98 and into 3rd. Hmmmm...

A) potato chips & cottage cheese
B) mint Oreos
C) lightly salted almonds & M&Ms
D) mini Reese's cups

Back to skating too - Ahmed - Legend of Zorro from a blond, French future PSOTY nominee - well, the jumps are not with him today, but we can all appreciate the eye candy since he's already 19.

LMAO - Mark calls it the North American cheer squad battle re: the WTT-esque looks from the Canadian and US contingents in the stands. We need a similar level of commitment from the other countries with large delegations at the JGPs.

Li has strange jump technique. He's landing them, but no one seems to know what to do with his GOE. Lots of gray boxes. Appealing skater, though.

Li - bit slow on the landings of his 3f+3t - there's something about his ankle - it's sort of buckling/wobbling on the landings - same with the 3z. They're done, but felt a bit insecure. Decent program, though a bit bland.

Rossi - still has the super-thick gloves that make his hands look fake, lol. Fall on the 2a to open, and then falls on the back end of the 3f+3t - not what he wanted here, I'm sure and he's really going to be buried in the standings. Such a gorgeous skater still.

I'm wrong, he did get in the combo before falling. So not quite as bad as it might have been.
