I'm sorry but that little hoppy thing Madison does makes me laugh like how can I take this seriously

Love me some Stevie Nicks! I would honestly loved to have seen them morph that into the Miley version but maybe
save that idea for a free dance someday. Fab.

Chock, Madison/Bates, Evan 🇺🇸
Coach: M.F. Dubreuil, P. Lauzon, R. Haguenauer
Music: Queen medley

MiStW4+MiStM4
SqTwW4+SqTwM4
Pattern Step Sequence 2
Choreo Rhythm Sequence

Rotational Lift 4

This program looking much better than at Skate America. Twizzles were a little slow across the ice, but everything else looked really smooth, and polished.

85.61 = 1st Place

Still very cautious from C/B but better than SA
Like the first half of the program for them, def works well. Yet totally not buying the second one - it lacks both meaning, execution and choreo

What Chock & Bates do well they do well. That had so much performance from Madison, way beyond anyone else in this comp and in the field really. The transition into the rotational lift and then the rotational lift itself were great. They can do things with lifts no other team can.

But the twizzles though... sigh. This program is alot better than I gave it credit for when I first saw it from SA. Some of the transitions are really creative, but some of the steps and the twizzles... Just thinking about the teams on the Oly Podium, it's such a step down from that.

Really good judging throughout this event, IMO.

This was a really fun 1st day of Espoo. See y'all tomorrow for the free skates. :)

7-2 split between Chock & Bates and Fournier Beaudry & Sorenson

6-3 split between Carreira & Ponomarenko and Zingas & Kolesnik

Only two 5s given out by the panel.

Chock & Bates only got one +2 for their twizzles. :shuffle:
I'm focussing on the Mrazeks getting the 4th highest GOE and ignoring those GOE C/B received. :D
