P.S. blue arrows are appearing in the final column on the right of the scoring sheet beside those who have already skated. They take you to the video of the skater.

I noticed that too - but most of the videos don't have sound. Only the video of Jack Dushenski in senior men plays with sound of the ones I looked at. ETA some of the novice women's videos have sound too so maybe it's just the jr women's ones that have this issue.

I clicked the link just as Daleman was starting, so I decided to watch her. Same Diamonds program, 3T with the same distance and power but a fall so no combo, 2A wasn't rotated all the way, 3Lz way leaning from the take-off and fall too. The steps in her non-jumping direction were clunky.

It's early in the year (someone's going to say it) but it's been 7 years since her World medal, 6 years since any real stand-out success, and many of her programs in recent years don't play to the strengths that she has, or once had.

Medland-Spence is first up in the third group so I guess Catherine Carle is withdrawn.

Medland-Spence huge double axel to open but down on the triple flip and turn out on the triple loop so no combo.

Dupuis' music is "Never Go Back by Evanescence" per her updated ISU bio. Interesting she did a triple lutz double toe combo (not much speed). She landed all her jumps. Solo jump was a triple loop.

They are aware of the problem and I understand it is going to be fixed...

The live results for group two shows Katherine Karon, Justine Miclette and Fiona Bombardier as withdrawn.
Fiona was in the arena - she was warming up (on the concourse) when I arrived but I understand from a source that her SP "wasn't ready". Maybe she will do the FS?

Sorry for the 3 posts in a row - I was just catching up after coming home, feeding the cat, putting out the garbage, etc.... :)

I see that Sara-Maude is not listed to skate the FS today, nor is Gabby, but Fiona is - we'll see if she skates today.

Looks like they're running a little behind. Junior pair short warmup going on now.

Well, that was a short event. One pair, and we're bringing out the zamboni already!

I see Sylvia noted above that Rolland/Lacasse are a new pair, and that Lacasse was in pre-novice last year. They do look like a new and inexperienced pair (their twist was pretty weak, and they had lots of unison problems in the step sequence), but they look like solid skaters individually, so their newness makes me hopeful that they will build on their pair skills rapidly as the season progresses.

3 Pre-Novice pairs warmed up with the Novice pair. :) The first team skated a cute program to The Addams Family OST and won.

Proft/Nadeau's SP music is "Way Down We Go" by KALEO. 56.23
Thibodeau-Mailhot/Villeneuve skated to "Unsteady" by X Ambassadors. 44.16

ETA:
P.S. blue arrows are appearing in the final column on the right of the scoring sheet beside those who have already skated. They take you to the video of the skater.
VERY COOL new feature!

The first flood of the morning was after the Pairs SP but there had been 5 events before that :)

The next flood will be after the Novice Men FS which is underway now.

WHY would anyone tempt the skategods like this?
The skategods know. They know that pairs fans are gluttons for every form of punishment possible.

ETA - Proft/Nadeau look pretty good for early in the season. It's a real shame that Skate Canada couldn't manage to leave a pairs TBD spot for SCI because they certainly would be a solid addition to the field.

Canadian kids are apparently just as bad as dressing 80s style as the Americans who competed in Dallas last week. I saw one girl in this group who had a nearly acceptable bodysuit, but the team that just started is looking very 70s. Don't these children have parents and choreographers who were alive in the 1980s?

I can tell already, this season is going to be even more of an '80s experience than my childhood was. (In my childhood I mostly just ignored the music.)
