Andrew & Fletcher have a nice look/speed on the ice. Pity the sbs db lutz combo was such a mess but at least they got the sbs db axels. Good luck to them in a few weeks at the first JGP

Andrew/Fletcher: 3tw caught on his shoulder, sbs 2A very nice, 3STh very nice, sbs 2Lz2T2T he singled 2nd jump and she fell on the last one, 2LzTh. They skate really well together, and approach their elements with confidence.
Score 84.04; total 132.63.

Gabrielle Levesque's sbs jumps are really weak. Pity as I really like Hudon but she's not at his level at this time

Levesque/Hudon:
3tw messy catch, sbs 2A she fell, sbs 2Lz2T she didn't really get off the ground on the 1st jump, 3STh step out, 3LoTh step out. They have more polish and "pair-ness" than some of the other teams, but the jump elements seem to be a bit of a struggle.
Score 75.54; total 118.94.

I can't get on the McIntosh/Toste bandwagon as she has big feet and that usually means puberty will not be kind :shuffle:

I don't care for this music for them either. And they seem like two singles skaters out there so they really need to work on their connection to each other and the music.

McIntosh/Toste: 2tw nice, sbs 3S he fell but good attempt, 3STh really nice, 2LoTh nice, sbs 2A-2S he fell on 1st jump. As a next step, I'd like to see them engage more with each other and the music. But they are both so young and already quite strong with the technical elements. A lot of potential there for both of them. (Were they the only pair here to attempt both a sbs triple jump and a 2A?)
Score 81.14; total 130.66.

So I'm watching jr dance since it seems like everyone changed partners after last season.

Nadiia Bashynska's dress change mid program was pretty cool; I'm terrible at ID'ing music so I'm assuming their music is Cinderella

I really like D'Alessandro and Waddell.

Hope they can stay together for awhile and continue to develop

Pretty sure it was just a 2STh. Too bad they don't have a 3Th yet, they really need one for a JGP.

I counted 7 triples landed by Japan's Rinka Watanabe and a fall on 3A! ETA: 3Lz+3T, 3A fall, 2A+3T, 3Lz+2T+2Lo, 3F landed then turnout, 3Lo & 3S - Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty? 123 FS, 183.95 1st.

Michelle Long's FS is to "Broken Vow" (Lara Fabian). 151 2nd

ETA: Alicia Pineault (cover of Shawn Phillips' "Woman"?) opening 3Lz looked pretty good. 150 3rd.

I think Amanda Tobin finished 4th and Emy Decelles 5th.

ETA #2 - Watanabe's 3A was downgraded << but she was credited with landing 6 triples cleanly (her 3F turnout received a takeoff edge warning): http://skateontario.org/results/18S1/18S1SeniorWomenFPDRO.pdf

Top 9:
1 Rinka Watanabe Japan 60.28 (1) 123.67 (1) 183.95
2 Michelle Long Richmond Training Centre ON 55.17 (3) 96.66 (3) 151.83
3 Alicia Pineault CPA Varennes QC 56.94 (2) 93.64 (4) 150.58
4 Amanda Tobin Burlington Skating Centre ON 49.43 (5) 98.01 (2) 147.44
5 Emy Decelles CPA Baie Comeau QC 54.95 (4) 87.23 (6) 142.18
6 Valérie Giroux CPA Blainville/Ste-Therese QC 42.12 (8) 93.46 (5) 135.58

With Pineault's skate, I'm officially done watching Minto summer skate 2018. :D

Thanks skate canada once again for the free feed and I'll see everyone in a few weeks in the Quebec summer skate thread

Question: with 3 groups for Jr. girls and results for SP and FS already posted for each group, how will they determine who the Winner is? by scores or another skate-off?

Minto doesn't hold final rounds; there are just group winners. This is not unusual for non-qualifying/summer club competitions in Canada.

Where did you find the FS results for Group 3? I can only see their SP scores.
My guess is that Tinami didn't click on Group 3 or didn't notice those FS results have yet to be published. ;)

I've edited replay video links for Senior Men FS (post #101) and Senior Women FS (post #102) above.

Gogolev 80.74
3lz3t, 3a, 3f, jumps look easy!
cute kid, good music
Wow what can you say about Gogolev? That was brilliant. And finally he can skate internationally.
His fan account made a video of Stephen Gogolev's Junior SP (to "Run Boy Run" by Woodkid; he kept the same music from last season) from the live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsN4FpKs-VQ
Gogolev's FS video, uploaded to the same YT account, is blocked in the U.S. due to music copyright:
FS not skated as well, but great program and you can see Donald Jackson watching from behind the glass :)

I just looked at results in group 3.... wow, looks like 2nd and 3rd place in this group would not medal if they skated in groups 1 and 2.... what a strange competition arrangement.

Forget about the marks! The winner of Group 1 rotated only one triple jump in the SP and only one in the FS---and both were 3T. All the other triples were < or <<.
