Its interesting because their scores were converging internationally. But now the French judges have put a lot of daylight between them. They boosted L&B by 10 points over their most recent GP FD score, but they didn't do much for D&L-M. One wonders about that.
Yeah, but scores converging in separate events doesn't mean much either. (Their SBs are--at this moment in time--10 pts. apart). D&L-M have better material this year, IMO. But also they're not fully cooked yet. France is going to try to push L&B into the Worlds top 10. I dunno if they're gonna get there without mistakes from other teams. But one can see why--for France--that would be more helpful than having two proximate teams at this point in time.

IMO if L&B show their full potential at Europeans & Worlds I see them finishing 4th in Espoo and 9th in Japan given the 3 US and 2 Canadian couples that might finish ahead of them. Maybe Muramoto/Takahashi will get a Worlds@home boost? But L&B would still be in the top 10 then.

Who do you figure for bronze at Euros?

Andrea82 has compiled a handy list of likely ice dance teams for Euros in the Dance Hall discussion thread here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...a-samba-2022-2023.109753/page-44#post-6356998

ETA: FWIW, L/B have the 3rd highest ISU SB total score among the European teams but it's very close among them, FIN & LTU.
I'd say, based on the GP Espoo results, that Turkkila/Versluis are the slight favorites for Euros bronze, with LopBris and ReedAmbru rounding out the top 5.

After that, there are the Taschlers, KazRev, and Demougeot/Le Mercier, and then maybe Janse van Rensburg/Steffan for 6th-9th in some order. The real question will be who finishes 10th and qualifies 2 spots for their country next season. Right now, my odds on bet would be Ignateva/Szemko, but this is a really inexperienced field, so there could be some nerves that lead to movement and surprises.

It's possible.

We've got 6 teams from the GPF. (With Hawayek's knee being kind of scary, but 🤞).

Then I figure there are at least 6-7 teams with a shot at 4 Worlds top-ten spots. (Euros is another kettle of fish, both team-wise & politically).

Reed & Ambrulevicius, Green & Parsons/Carreira & Ponomarenko, Turkkila & Versluis, Lopareva & Brissaud, Muramoto & Takahashi (should they be selected), Taschlerova & Taschler, and maybe Wang & Liu if they can pull together. They've got a long way to go, but to be fair, they've a lot more experience than most of this bunch & they have some time.

Fun fact: Lopareva & Brissaud and Taschlerova & Taschler actually had exactly the same FD score at NHK and Espoo. (111.79)
