Honestly, I'd wager Plushy's Biellman contributed to his back issues as much as training the quads. Even when he did it well you could tell how much strain it caused him.

Very quick, each shared their post-skate thoughts, Ilia got two questions about the flamenco choice (one being from @Eislauffan), and Shun got one asking how he felt with his skate. And that's all.

I wonder why it was so brief? 🤔 Though nice for the skaters who surely want to get some rest.

I agree with this. I think Ilia will have to give it up pretty soon too. Males have too much muscle mass in their backs for the Biellman spins. And, besides, we see more than enough of them from the women.

ok I just got home but left before I could say anything about Malinin

There is a certain awkwardness to his body positions in this program. It's not bad, but it does make everything look a little awkward. His jumps are so beautiful in the air though. High with tight rotation. He was my husband's favorite. My 13 year old liked Shun Sato better lol. Aymoz had the skate of the event though for me. It was just so quiet and he was just feeling everything to the tips of his fingers. I know I'm biased but Torgy had the best basic skating. The way he's able to get speed from nowhere and his edgework is just superb.

My husband got some really great pics and if he ever shares them with me I'll throw them up somewhere haha.

You got that right. I still remember the interview with Toller where he was asked whether Elvis Stojko lived in the same part of Mexico as he did. Toller, replied (completely deadpan), "No, I wouldn't allow that."
The man could tell a story. He is def on my list of skaters (dead or alive) I’d invite to a dinner party. Moskvina is also on the list and man if those two got together…

Here are my snippets from my posh loge: Torgashev is fast, Tan'ka, beautiful basics, agree needs a jumps coach. Naumov has very elegant spins. Vasiliev has the most artistic sleeves! Bautiful Lambiel program, too bad about the jumps, he did at least one clean quad in the warm up. Aymoz, i cried with him, perfection, artistically and jumps wise, immaculate. He is a gorgeous skater, edges, knees, very soft and flowy, a la Cizeron. Malinin has improved artistically, he hit some nice upper body poses, its just when you compare his skating skills to say Aymoz, he is like a Pinocchio. But good energy, attack, lightness and of course, a jumping academy. I wonder what happens if he gains any weight. 2 out of 3 Japanese men skated well, i preferred the 1st one, but i dont know any of them, i guess i need be uber more.

but he's looking down just like his mama liked to do. Definitely my favorite program he's done, and much, much better than the LP.
ok so the funny thing about this is that I noticed he was making a lot of eye contact with the judges to start off. I almost wrote on here that it seemed pretty obvious he was told to look at them more. But after that you could tell his focus was really on getting the jumps out of the way. Once those were done he relaxed again but kind of forgot about looking up haha.

The interesting thing to me is that during the very short press conference, he said something about being so into the program and really letting loose. I found that intriguing because I agree exactly with what you wrote. He seemed to get into it but in his own world, and he didn’t really skate in an ‘open’ way.

I know there was a comment or two about him being a big extrovert/personality but I think the opposite and in the profiles of his life, he seems fairly shy. Maybe one day the artist will break out.. maybe not.
