My feline companion "forced me" to have a little "cat nap" after watching Rio but we're back in time for the Free Dance 😸

And as predicted, Mark appears to be on his own for the event :)

Some of the strongest and cleanest technique we will see today, and this team should be the one pressing to get onto the World podium. Alas, it’s most likely 6th for them this year no matter what. Their time will come.

This is what we've come to expect from this team. A beautiful skate, wonderful skating skills, performance, and beautiful positions in every element.

I can’t agree with Mark that the one-foot was faster (or cleaner, at all) and the twizzles were a mess. I think even she was slightly off but her level holds for now. Even the choreographic assisted jumps weren’t really done with much ease.

This is slow-moving and I don’t find the choreography to ever be woven together with difficulty.

Give it to L/L. They are far superior IMO, even on PCS.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry/Nikolaj Soerensen 🇨🇦
Coach: M.-F. Dubreuil, P. Lauzon, R. Haguenauer
Music: Notre Dame de Paris

OFTW3+OFTM3
Rotational Lift 4 + Stationary Lift 4
SyTwW4+SyTwM
2 (3 after review)
DiStW3+DiStM2
Dance Spin
3 (4 after review)
Choreo Assist Jump
Choreo Character Step Sequence

Choreo Dance Lift

That's closer to Lajoie/Lagha than I thought it would be. Will the level 2 on his twizzles stay? (Edited: No, they gained a level after review)

120.75 = 1st Place
195.57 = 1st Place

I said in yesterday’s thread that watching from the arena, I thought Nikolaj was the weakest skater here (rather than Lilah). And today he’s not much better either.

BTW there’s a guy in the stands who growls before the Canadian teams skate. :lol:

FBSoer... hmmmm... Mark is telling us that they're losing levels on a lift, Nik's twizzles and one of the step sequences. This will be close between them and LajLag. Judges better get it right today and put LajLag ahead of them.
