Great win by the Wisconsin Badgers today over Michigan State. I have a totally inappropriate old lady crush on #24 Bronson Koenig, so I was happy to see him hit a 3 with 30 seconds left, then make an assist on the winning basket.
Surprised that Izzo didn't call a time out when his team went down by 1 with 10 seconds left. But I think he did it to have a teaching moment. He has the luxury of job security and what will surely be a bid to the NCAA tournament even if they don't win the conference.
Sure enough, his team went for a 3, which they didn't need one as 2 would have given them the lead with a few seconds left. As it was, they almost scored on the rebound of the missed 3. But clearly, they need some practice/experience in close games that come down to the wire.
