2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

Anyone familiar with the area? Trying to decide between Fairfield Inn and Ambassador Hotel (which is not one of the discounted hotels but looks like the surrounding area might be safer?).

Transparency comes to MLB: the 2024 baseball thread

I'm enjoying the Orioles season, but didn't enjoy watching them get swept by the Cardinals. :( And after the holiday weekend, we have our division opponents.

    U.S. Ice Dance 2023-24 news & updates

I enjoyed their programs and wish them the best in their post-skating lives. I'm glad they at least got to go to the Winter University Games.

Keeping Track of Criminal Cases & SafeSport Suspensions in Skating

All USFS coaches are required to have a SafeSport certification - background check and completion of an online course. I believe it is also a requirement for club board members to complete the SafeSport certification process (or maybe just "highly recommended" but I know my club board members...

2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

With Greensboro, we ordered directly from the LOC. Sales weren't online, we had to email the form (but could request specific section/row/seats, although no guarantee obviously) and I think there was a small fee per order for mailing. But nothing more than that.

2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

The ticket sales for next year's Nats are not being handled by Ticketmaster. It's some other co that seems to handle all the events at this particular arena.

2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

Well, yes, that's the difference. When it comes to packages of multiple tickets/events, one of the selling points to get people to plunk down big money far in advance is that the package is cheaper than buying each ticket individually, and the ind tix fees are part of that. (And there is the...

2025 U.S. Nationals in Wichita, KS & Skate America returns to Allen, TX in 2024

So the service fees were about $50 per ticket? The service fee on my Nats ticket was $96. The thing is, most 'package' ticket purchases don't have fees. My season subscriber theater tickets for next season (order process handled by Ticketmaster) were about $600 per person, maybe a few dollars...

Keeping Track of Criminal Cases & SafeSport Suspensions in Skating

I guess that's true. But situations like this are why we need some sort of int'l SafeSport.

Keeping Track of Criminal Cases & SafeSport Suspensions in Skating

Good news. I hope this will give Gracie and his other survivor closure. I assume "permanent ineligibility" applies only to USFS, though? He could still coach in Australia or Europe?
